The Internets have spoken and we have collectively decided to just rename Baby. All hail the continuation of Brother and Jelly Bean! Which, honestly, a huge sigh of relief for me. After I had thought about it, I really didn't want to change their names. I love their names. I know it is confusing for folks just walking in (not that there is some huge amount of those or anything), but I am happy to keep them.
Now. For Baby. I was thinking of calling him Sweet or Sweetie. Honey has always wanted to nickname him Scooter Pie after some confection at Cracker Barrel. How about I take suggestions and then we can put in a poll and vote. I am not really set on one name, just that it match the others. If we look at it, two of our names are food (Honey and Jelly Bean) and two of our names are...not (Misty and Brother). (Yes, Misty is my actual real name. Pity in the form of gifts and prizes can be mailed. Contact me for more info.) So maybe I don't want to give Baby a food-ish name? Or maybe I do. Obviously, I don't know what I want. So tell me.

Tomorrow is the start of hurricane season. With all the tornadoes, can I say that Mother Nature is making me a tad nervous? Because, look. She is.

Inspired by Reading and Chickens, I think I am going to go on a 30 day without sugar/grains kick. What do you think? I think...I can DO IT! I am pumping myself up. Why am I doing such a nutjob thing? I am doing it for SCIENCE. Yes. I want to see if cutting out sugar/grains affects my energy levels, my mood, my hunger, and my waistline. Maybe the guy is right and carbs are not a food for me. I think I will request the book at my local library and read it as well. I know that if I eat too much sugar in the morning, I get the shakes as I crash. I know that refined grains exacerbate my heartburn to a point where I wish I were dead. My grandmother is known for telling us all how a doctor told HER in her 30s that she needed to cut the carbohydrates or she would end up diabetic. And she did. (Which, I am sketchy on this 40 year old science, but I am willing to put it out there at least anecdotally.) I am also an apple shape and carry most of my weight in my abdomen. Which is hella bad, apparently.
I plan on eating when hungry and not depriving myself. Weight loss is not a goal, but it will be interesting to see if any occurs. I will eat fruit. I think I will have dairy, but haven't really hammered out exactly how much. And I will have sugar substitutes. But I usually can only have one a day or end up getting headaches. (Isn't this fun for you to read all the failings of my body!? Yeah, it isn't so fun typing them out either.)
Anyway. What do you think? Want to play? It's only a month. We can do anything for a month, right?
