Slavery

My eyes are bigger than my yard. Look what I purchased and put in (I will add a little disclaimer here that I got EVERYTHING listed for about 100 bucks.):
  • 1 Fruit Cocktail Tree
  • A Butterfly Bush Collection of 4 bushes, red, blue, white, and yellow.
  • I bought 10 new plants to fix the holes in the hedge we planted last year.
  • Fairy Pink Cushion Rose bush
  • Red Robin Hood Rose bush
  • 24 Creeping Phlox plants for ground cover in my rose bed.
  • A new hedge on the other side of the house and around the porch consisting of 6 Mock Oranges, 2 Old Fashioned Lilacs, and 4 Pink Weigelas
  • 24 strawberry plants in a patch
  • 4 of Granny's blueberry bushes
Plus, I put in corn, tomatoes, peppers, squash, basil, parsley, cilantro, sunflowers, zinnias, morning glories and OMG WHAT WAS I THINKING....

I have enslaved myself to the watering hose and stinky fish water.

Secrets

1. I wish I could dance like the Backyardigans.
2. I feel guilty when Honey takes care of the kids because I should be doing it.
3. I think I could be a great daycare teacher, because I would do a much better job than the dippy little girls they hire. Alas, my mortgage won't let me make minimum wage.
4. Sometimes I want a new job, but mostly I am afraid to leave the one I have.
5. I promised myself and some other folks that I would only buy Fair Trade chocolate for Easter this year, but now...I really just want the regular old stuff you get at the grocery store.
6. I think my kids are way cuter than anyone else's.
7. I am scared all the time.
8. Being in a play at least once is on my bucket list.
9. I am afraid of church buildings.
10. I pride myself on being open minded, but I am really not. I am really judgemental. I try to hide it because I know it is wrong. I have mixed results.

Drop

It is rainy outside and the lights are flickering here and there. The weather matches my mood. Wet and dreary with moments of darkness. If the power goes off, I will go get into my car and drive and drive and drive north. Well, probably not. Maybe I will go and drive south to the airport and get on a plane to France. I won't even have to pay the luggage fee, because I didn't pack. Ok, so I won't really do that either.

I feel like I am wilting, wrapped in a wet soggy grey blanket.
